What started as an investigation into a reported disturbance at the Quality Inn on Greenspring Drive in Stafford led to a host of charges for Woodbridge resident Gibril Kondeh, who was caught with several baggies of controlled substances at the jail.

Shortly after 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, deputies were called to the hotel, where there was an argument between a man and woman inside the business.

It was determined that the altercation was only verbal in nature over another woman; however, while investigating, it was determined that Kondeh was under the influence, and he admitted to taking a controlled substance earlier that day, leading to his initial detention.

Kondeh doubled down after being apprehended, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said.

He remained disruptive, and was so unruly that the magistrate could not properly conduct a bond hearing as he continued shouting at deputies.

Kondeh was then taken to the jail.

While in intake, investigators say that officers noticed that Kondeh was wearing two pairs of socks, and inside one of them, they uncovered several small baggies of drugs.

Further investigation led to the recovery of additional blue pills - commonly associated with fentnayl - in his underwear.

Kondeh, 25, was charged with:

  • Public intoxication;
  • Two counts of possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute;
  • Two counts of felony by a prisoner.

He is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail pending his ability to participate in a proper bond hearing.
